Eagle ScoutsPost 5702 Honors Three Eagle Scouts

During the months of October and November, 2007, three Boy Scouts from Franklin Lakes and Oakland (Troops 34 and 49), were honored by members of their troop for attaining the rank of Eagle Scout. This is Scouting's highest award.

The award is a performance-based achievement whose standards have been well-maintained over the years. Not every boy who joins a Boy Scout troop earns the Eagle Scout rank; only about 5 percent of all Boy Scouts do so. This represents more than 1.7 million Boy Scouts who have earned the rank since 1912. Nevertheless, the goals of Scouting--citizenship training, character development, and personal fitness--remain important for all Scouts, whether or not they attain the Eagle Scout rank.

The members of VFW Post 5702 are proud to recognize three young men who have worked very hard to attain this award. Our post issued VFW Eagle Scout certificates and a monetary award to each of the recipients. We offer our congratulations to:

Eagle Scout Scott Clarke Troop 34

Eagle Scout Kevin Pizzolo Troop 34

Eagle Scout Frank Pallien Troop 49

If anyone would like to donate to our 2007/2008 projects it would be very helpful. This year we are raising money for the Fisher House Foundation at Walter Reed Hospital and for The Wounded Warrior Project.
